Cultural Research Project ~ ongoing > SILK

“Crawl Up on the Mountages” refers to a process of breeding silkworms for them to make cocoons. In this stage, silkworms climb onto the cocoon frame known as “tsu” to spin their cocoons, and the format of a cocoon frame might change in different places and cultures. “Crawl Up on the Mountages” not only responds to the connection between the sericulture and its surrounding environment, but also crosses different developments in space and time as a metaphor for the coexistence between humanity and mountains.
